Be Featured on the MFPCC Website!
The SAMHSA Minority Fellowship Program Coordinating Center (MFPCC) would like to feature you as a Fellow of the Month on the MFPCC website. The Fellow of the Month series profiles current MFP fellows and alumni, nominated by an MFP grantee organization or other MFP-related professionals, and shines a light on their background, goals, and accomplishments. You may visit the MFPCC website home page to view the current highlighted profile.
As a current or alumni MFP fellow, you are encouraged to submit your information as a potential Fellow of the Month. If you are interested in nominating yourself, you may select either the Current Fellows or Alumni Fellows link to provide information for the profile. Once your profile is selected to be featured, you will receive an email from an MFPCC team member regarding next steps. If you are interested in recommending someone else as the Fellow of the Month, have any questions, or are interested in speaking with a MFPCC team member, you may email mfpcc@mayatech.com.
CSWE Celebrates 50 years as an MFP Grantee Organization!
In 1974 the National Institute of Mental Health awarded the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) a grant to increase the number of minority doctoral students majoring in mental health research, preparing doctoral students to be among the next generation of mental health researchers. CSWE awarded fellowships to 15 minority students in the initial year of its Minority Fellowship Program. To date CSWE has supported over 600 MFP fellow with 76% receiving a doctorate. Let's congratulate CSWE on 50 years of excellence and dedication to assisting the doctoral and postdoctoral development of nurses, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and marriage and family therapists from underrepresented and underserved populations.
